Biography / CVDominika graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland and later followed a postgraduate course at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain in association with the Juan Miro Foundations were earned a postgraduate diploma in Aesthetics and Theory of Contemporary Art. She has experience as a proffessional sculptor and an academic tutor.Currently, associated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland as a PhD candidate in sculpture. All through the span of the last years she continued unfolding and developing her creativity, through sculpture and installation presenting her work in numerous exhibitions around the workd including her solo exhibitions like Sculpture in Nowa Gallery in Poznan, figuring reality, in Agora Gallery in New York. Interdependencia in Instituto Piramide, Huesca, Spain, Echoes of thoughts, Memory of forms in Warsaw. Her works are on permanent display in several sculpture parks and collections around Europe, Asia and Middle East as well as in private collections. Her relentless artistic exploration has earned her several Biennale of Sculpture in Poznan, Poland, the award of the Biennale of the Contemporary Figuration and Realism in Spain in 2003, Vissiual Art Grant of the Ministry of Culture in Poland in 2005 and the second prize International Sculpture Symposium Maalot, Israel in 2006. The artist explores the interaction between notions, ideas and forms that mark our cultures. Artist StatementThrough my work I am exploring the ideas of identity, of belonging and of being related, as encountered in contemporary times. The main body of my artwork consists of mixed media objects, installations and monumental sculptures. I gather material and accumulate knowledge and experience from different areas and cultures aiming thus to mark the universal and local, the common and the individual. At the same time I am trying to work in a way where my sculpture connects with other disciplines like photography, architecture, writing and others. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
